7/29/10 Summer Fishing Report

Lake Almanor: Hex is slow, small hatch in the evening ; most fished taken deep nymphing. Nice size Browns and smallmouth being caught on the west shore Nymphing deep. Morning and early afternoon has been fishing well at the mouth of the Feather and springs. Lake is coming alive, smallmouth can be caught all day.

Butt Valley Res. Hex hatch is still going, some bugs are still coming off by the dam. Power has been running and is starting up in the morning, has been good.

Eagle Lake: All ramps are open; lake is warming and fishing has slowed down.

Susan River: Water levels are good; Devils corral down stream in the catch and release area is a good area to start from. Good reports up stream.

North Fork of the Feather: Above the lake is in good shape, it's down to a good fishable level. Nymph working best, an evening hatch starting to happen.

Warner Creek: The creek is fishing well, hoppers are starting to work.

Deer Creek: Best level at the upper end. Nymphing is catching some fish, water temps are about right.

Mill Creek: Starting to come in shape and improving.

Hamilton Branch: Fishing pretty well; birds nest, stones and red copper johns are working.

Yellow Creek: Mostly clear and at a good level; good evening hatches. Para adams working well in the evenings.

Goodrich Creek: Clear and at a good level and has been planted.

Upper Lakes: Crater, Echo and Silver are fishing good.

Antelope Lake:Fishing well by Dam, good reports.

Walker and Round Valley Res. Open with a good bass bite. If you have not fished these lakes you should.
